PREPARATION & AFTERCARE

Exfoliate: The day before your spray tan, exfoliate your entire body to remove dead skin cells. Pay extra attention to rough areas like elbows, knees, and ankles. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub or mitt to promote an even tan.
Shave or Wax: If you plan to shave or wax, do so at least 24 hours before your spray tan. This helps to prevent any irritation and allows your pores to close, reducing the risk of uneven color absorption.
Remove Makeup and Deodorant: Remove any makeup, deodorant, and other skincare products before your spray tan appointment. These products can create a barrier and affect the tan's development.
Wear Loose, Dark Clothing: Choose loose-fitting, dark clothing for your spray tan appointment. Tight clothing can rub against the tan, causing it to streak, and dark clothing helps avoid any staining.
Bring Loose Footwear: Wear flip-flops or loose shoes to prevent smudging the tan on your feet immediately after the session.
Prepare Your Hair: Tie your hair away from your face and neck. A shower cap will be provided.
Avoid Perfumes or Heavy Scents: Skip perfumes, heavy lotions, or body sprays on the day of your spray tan, as these can interfere with the tanning solution.
Follow Any Additional Instructions: Your spray tan technician may provide specific instructions. Follow them carefully, as they may have recommendations for showering, avoiding water, or other post-tan care.
Plan Your Day After the Tan: Schedule your spray tan when you can avoid activities that may cause sweating or water exposure for the recommended development time. It's usually best to wait at least 8 hours before showering to allow the tan to fully set unless you use the ultra dark solution which has a development time of 2 hours for a light tan, 4 hours for a medium tan, and 6 hours for a dark tan.
Showering: For your first shower after your spray tan, wash with water only. Let the water run until you no longer see cosmetic bronzer rinsing off. After your shower, pat dry (don't rub).
Use Mild Soap: When you shower again, use a mild, moisturizing, sulfate-free soap. Avoid harsh soaps and exfoliating products, as they can strip away the tan.
Pat Dry: After showering, pat your skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing. Rubbing can cause the tan to fade unevenly.
Moisturize: Hydrated skin helps maintain your tan. Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturizer daily, especially after showering. Avoid oil-based products as they can break down the tan.
Avoid Long Hot Baths: Extended exposure to hot water can speed up the exfoliation process, leading to faster fading. Opt for shorter, lukewarm showers instead.
Skip Heavy Exercise: Avoid intense physical activities that may cause excessive sweating for the first 24 hours after your spray tan.
Limit Chlorine Exposure: Chlorine in pools and hot tubs can accelerate tan fading. Try to avoid prolonged exposure to chlorinated water.
Be Mindful of Products: Avoid using products that contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), or retinoids, as they can exfoliate the skin and shorten the life of your tan.
